Sony xperias are the best smartphones,my son still has my old xperia Z…the phone is 8 years old and been used every day and still works great….Sony’s quality and making is pure perfectionism,too bad they are not show-offs. But i don’t care,as long as they don’t stop making them,i will always buy heir stuff. makes me feel unique..like driving a ferrari,rare and beautiful…
Phone bundles Sony Xperia 5 is £3 $5 a month more expensive than P30 Pro, Sony Battery smaller, Charging is slower, Selfie camera is lower quality, Finger print sensor on side is pointless and I can imagine being a pain to use, Display is slightly better but like you say it is hard to tell that extra quality.

Sony has had fingerprint readers in their power buttons since the xperia z1. Probably one of the first phones to have it along with water resistance. Don’t give the medal to Apple for catching up with the times.
Is this a review for the 1 II or the 5 II?I think I missed something because you’re saying it has a 4k 60hz screen which is the 1 II specs but the 5 II has a 1080p 120hz.
Sony is very underrated in the mobile market.
They have garbage names, outdated designs, and horrible lack of advertising.
I worked with Sony Philippines before and let me tell you this, someone is screwing things up within the company. Before, a co-promoter suggested to have Sony produce a high watts component to have loud sounds and other things Filipinos would buy, they don’t listen. We’re the frontliners in the business and they don’t believe us. Then when the hype dies, that’s when they consider suggestions.

I’ve worked with mobile repairs for the last six years and I absolutely hate Sony Phones. The Z series were absolute trash when it came to repairablity. Inside they were all plastic and tape. Oh, and when the screen broke the touch stopped working all together. The X-series got better regarding the touch, but still a nightmare to repair. Always something that needed to be re-fixed. The XZ3 was the only one that had a decent construction. Since then people seem to have stopped buying Sony, we rarely see them. Good to see they’ve stepped up from the tape and plastic.
You’re right about that Marques..I’m one of those who loved Sony products especially their mobile phones since their Xperia series started it’s sad to say that theyve somehow lost their drive in the mobile department. I’m so hoping that one of this days that they’ll rise to the occasion again & give Apple, Samsung & those upcoming players on the mobile phones category a real fight for their money.
Sony should watch this review and rethink… There was a time between 2000 to 2008 all other industry current leading brands trying to compete sony & nokia phones and tired before android. Sony’s cybershot era which was myfavrt? is finished. Its clearly marketing fail and they really dont want to compete with current phone industry giants.
