Thanks for watching! Here is my article with more details on how I set up everything:

  2. Rob Crook says:

I have the problem with my Samsung 7Series tv that is connected to my SmartThings hub. If it has been off for a while it will be offline on the hub and therefore i cant use my voice to turn it on. Also, i have a strip light connected directly into the TV. Works well so that it turns off all livingroom lights when the tv turns off and visversa when the tv goes on. But if i ask google to turn all lights off i always get the “cannot turn tv strip light off as its offline” 😀

  3. Rhys Davies says:

Cheating on ST with HA are we!? – My lawyer will be in touch shortly.

  4. Henning Andersen says:

Why not use the buildt in position-tracking in the home assistant app? I have been toying around with settings for tracking home/away with wifi myself, but never got it reliable. The home assistant app takes care of that by actually using your phones position

  5. Apokylis says:

For those living in an apartment with baseboard heating, I strongly recommend to have a look to Mysa product. Those are smart thermostat they work with Alexa, Google home, IFTTT etc… I have it and it’s awesome. They are even launching AC unit control this spring. I am not 100% sure they to US since it’s a Canadian company but I believe they do. Check it out 😉

  6. Juan Pacheco says:

You can change you thermostat to a smart one and just change it back to the old one when you finish your lease and leave.

  7. Dale Gundy says:

Please do a Google assistant anouces if a door get opened. Ie like if my kids try to leave it says front door open

  8. Daniel O'Connell says:

Is it just me ? or do all of our wives/ partners hate that we all automate the ish outta our homes I haven’t seen 1 persons partner say they like them my wife HATES IT with a passion and of course I just keep getting more ?

  9. Rhys Davies says:

Reed, you need some donation links set up bud. You’re one of the few channels that put a lot of work in and you don’t actively run Patreon or some other active donation channel and think that needs to change. Do it bud!

  10. Augustin MEIGNAN says:

For presence sensor room by room you can use Bluetooth tracker
You place esp32 in each room and the one with the strongest signal means you’re in the room
I’ve not tested this, just thought about it, I don’t even know if it would be possible

  11. Dries Verhoeve says:

In an apartment you can use Tado for a smart thermostat. We have this setup in our apartment.

  12. catalin toia says:

Hi! Great video like always. Get I get more details about the dashboard please! Thank you! Well done!

  13. Cliff Wright says:

I’m struggling with the concept on an NFC tag that’s on your light switch. Isn’t it much simpler just to flick the actual switch given you have to reach your arm out to it anyway, rather than having to dig your phone out of your pocket? Is there something here I’m missing?

  14. Nir Avniel says:

Thanks for the video, what dashboard are you using on the Amazon tablet ?

  15. Philippe Nielsen says:

I recommend you looking into so you can get automations set up depending on who is in what room.

  16. Sampath Swamy says:

Hi, been looking for an app which has a home map. Where I can place the lights where I want. Do you know of anything like that?
